The nation has witnessed many historical moments, to which the Indian Army soldier, Neeraj Chopra, engraved his name, winning the first-ever Olympic gold medal at men’s Javelin throw on Saturday.
The Javelin throw star mesmerized his 1.3 billion well-wishers with his breathtaking performance at Tokyo Olympics after his history-making 87.58m throw.
The 23-year-old Panipat boy has already collected six gold medals in major tournaments around the world` to become the first track and field athlete to win a gold medal for India at the Olympics.
“It feels unbelievable. It is the first time India has won gold in athletics, so I feel very good. We have just one gold here in other sports,” the 23-year-old said after winning the historic gold.
“This is our first Olympic medal for a very long time, and in athletics, it is the first time we have gold, so it’s a proud moment for me and my country,” he further added.
Many celebrities and prominent personalities including the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced a cash reward of ₹ 6 crores to Neeraj Chopra for his performance at Tokyo Olympics.
